Raleigh International

Raleigh International is a sustainable development charity, which for 30 years has undertaken a range of education, health, livelihood and environmental projects in poor rural communities around the world. Raleigh International delivers its work through diverse teams of young volunteers working in collaboration with communities, local organisations, governments and international NGOs. Raleigh currently works in Borneo, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, India and Tanzania. 

Following the development of a new three year organisational strategic plan and having been chosen as a beneficiary of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, Raleigh wanted to develop a new corporate engagement strategy.

We were delighted to be asked to work with the Business Development Team at Raleigh to develop the new plan. Following an initial briefing and familiarisation phase we planned and delivered a range of activities to help  shape the new plan. These included:

Reviewing past corporate partnerships, results and learning.

Reviewing programme impact reports.

Benchmarking Raleigh’s products and opportunities with the wider market place and their competitive set.

Undertaking stakeholder interviews with, amongst others; staff in the UK and overseas, corporate  partners and potential partners, Trustees and Returned Volunteers.

The findings and insight were then discussed with key Raleigh staff and pulled together into one corporate engagement plan built around a limited number of product opportunities which played to Raleigh’s strengths, brand and distinctiveness. Accompanying the plan were income targets and overall KPIs.

Following the successful presentation of the new Corporate Engagement Plan to Raleigh International’s Board of Trustees, approval was granted to implement the plan including trialling the development of a new in-country corporate development programme in Malaysia. 

We are now excited to be working with Raleigh on further developing the proposed products into more tangible propositions which can be promoted to potential partners and we are looking  forward to helping them exceed the income target for 2014.
